barpretending is exactly what it sounds like: “pretending to bartend.”

My name is Evan — I’ve set out to curate a collection of cocktail recipes intended to exemplify the possibilities of a home bar.  I am not a trained bartender or mixologist, but, through much trial and error (and plenty of taste testing), I have crafted some of my favorite versions of both classic and modern libations right at home.  Over the years I’ve been ‘barpretending,’ I’ve refined my approach to cocktail preparation and presentation.  My hope is to provide the framework and inspiration to make delicious cocktails you’ll enjoy sharing with your family and friends in the comfort of your own home.
