Aperol Spritz
The Aperol Spritz is another refreshing sip perfect as the weather starts to get warmer. Extremely popular in Italy, this libation largely consists of Prosecco and club soda with the primary ingredient being — you guessed it — Aperol. For those who have not had Aperol, it is under the umbrella of bitter Italian liqueur, however, it is slightly less bitter than others it is often compared to, such as Campari. Even if you haven’t had the best experiences with other bitter Italian liqueurs, you may still very well enjoy this cocktail. It’s not often people will sip Aperol on its own, but with the assistance of Prosecco and club soda to help stretch and soften the overall flavor, it is far more palatable. When it comes to preparation, in lieu of a mixing glass or shaker, I suggest adding all of the ingredients directly in the wineglass. Before adding the sparkling ingredients, I recommend starting with the Aperol and ice and stirring frequently to mix everything together. Don’t forget to garnish your Aperol Spritz an orange half-wheel. But don’t take my word for it, make one and try it for yourself!
