Cucumber Lemonade

The Cucumber Lemonade is a beverage perfect for those hot summer days.  This combination of cucumber juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup is topped with club soda to create a refreshing option for those who choose to abstain from alcohol. When it comes to the preparation, I recommend shaking and serving “tall” in a highball or Collins glass topped with soda. However, in the event you are hosting a gathering, this cocktail is perfect to pre-batch and serve in a pitcher or dispenser with a pour-spout — this will keep you free from getting stuck behind the bar.  In these situations, I like to setup serving station for my guests with an ice bucket, a garnish tray, and glassware for easy of use.  Speaking of, as far as the garnish is concerned, a cucumber ribbon and a bouquet of mint is always a nice touch. Depending on the crowd, you can give your guests the option of gin or vodka at the serving station, but the pitcher or drink dispenser ideally would remain spirit-free. But don’t take my word for it, make one and try it for yourself!

Cucumber Lemonade

In your shaker, combine the simple syrup, lemon juice, and cucumber juice.

  • 0.75 oz of Simple Syrup

  • 1 oz of Lemon Juice

  • 1.5 oz of Cucumber Juice

  • 2 oz Club Soda (to top)

Add ice to your shaker and shake until it develops a frost.  Double-strain contents (by pouring the contents from the shaker through a fine mesh strainer) into your Collins glass over ice and top with club soda.  Garnish with a cucumber ribbon and bouquet of mint.

TIP(S):

  1. Pre-batch ahead of time — in order to save yourself the trouble, simply scale up the ingredients proportionally directly into a drink dispenser / pitcher.
